Tonight, my last night in Honduras, I was standing on the beach with a kitten in my arms as I listened to the crashing waves when I noticed a light hiding in the distance of the sky. I quickly realized that this light was the moon behind the clouds. I thought it must be a full moon to give off that much light behind the clouds in the distance. I stayed and continued to watch the moon light because I wanted to see the full moon in all its glory. Within a few minutes I got to see the full moon which was much brighter than I anticipated.
As I was standing there I thought of God’s Majesty which is within each of us. Some of us, me included, have God’s Majesty hidden behind the stuff in our lives. God’s Majesty might be hidden behind sinful habits, bad relationships, or just the busyness of life. But God wants His Majesty to shine fully through our lives.
In order to have God’s Majesty fully shining in our lives we need to have an active relationship with Him where we seek Him every day as well as die to ourselves daily. If we get rid of all of the stuff that doesn’t glorify Him then we no longer have clouds hiding His Majesty.
I want to bring everything that doesn’t glorify Him to Him each day and have Him fill me with more of Him so His Majesty will shine brightly through my life. I want people just walking by me to notice His Majesty in my life.
Lord, this year please fill me with more of you and help me to surrender myself and all my stuff to you each day. I want Your Majesty to shine through me everyday. Thank you for Your Majesty, never let me take it for granted or hide it with any stuff not of You.
