Panama has been amazing and stretching all at once! It’s so great to be back in a Hispanic culture and to be speaking Spanish again. The people here are super nice and we have a great ministry host, Tom with YWAM. On our second full day here we went to minister at a prison with Pastor Bill and we get to so the same tomorrow. It was amazing to see how God had transformed their lives and given them a hope. I can’t wait for tomorrow!
We went to Pastor Bill’s church last Sunday and I got to help with kids ministry which was a blast. The best part of the service however was how the congregation received us! Pastor Bill had the elders of the church and whomever felt led to pray over us and speak words that God was giving them for us. One of the elders read Psalm 3 to me and prayed against all fear in me. Then God was prompting me that I needed to surrender all. I answered God saying “I have already done that.” I mean I gave up my job, my house, pushed back marriage, and so much more. Then my fear, doubt, and some bitterness resurfaced. Maybe I hadn’t really surrendered all.
Luke 9:23 says deny yourself take up your cross and follow me. I already did that! Didn’t I? I thought I had, but it means more than just your profession or location, it means your thoughts and desires and wants. What are you holding onto that God is asking you to surrender as you deny yourself to take up your cross and follow Him? Give it to God so He can use you in even a greater way.
