This blog has been on my heart for a very long time. Everytime I go to write it, I realize I have more refocusing to do. The last couple months have been amazing, but very busy. I feel like my to-do list (that I have yet to write) is ever growing. In the midst of cleaning out my classroom, packing up my house, fundraising, and spending time with friends and family I have at times lost sight of why I am doing everything I am doing and started focusing on what needs to be done.
I’m sure we have all been there more often than we like to admit. Maybe you feel like you keep running around because your kids are involved in too many things. I’m going, going, going because it ALL has to get done before I leave. I need to remember I’m doing all these “things” because God has called me to go on a long term mission trip. You might be running all around because God has entrusted you with a child to raise up in the ways they should go.
Let what God has called you to be your focus! God has brought each of us to where we are currently. We cannot let ourselves get wrapped up in the “things” and remember God should be our focus.
- Work might be crazy and chaotic, but God has you there to show His love.
- You might be taking your kids to practices and games, but God has you there to show His love.
- Maybe you are selling your belongings, but God wants you to show His love to each buyer.
Instead of stressing about work, where you need to be, or all the things that need to be done. Rest in the loving arms of your Heavenly Father and refocus your attention to Him and showing His love to those around you. When you refocus to allow God to be your center, your stress lessens and can disappear if you allow Him to be your strength. So take a moment and refocus.
