Each year around Easter I’m always reminded of how Jesus sacrificed His life for me. Many churches put on Easter plays or cantatas which depict the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. It’s so easy to think about how Jesus rose from the dead and conquered hell, death, and the grave…but thinking about His crucifixion is not so easy. He sacrificed His body and His life for our sins, our healing, and for an eternal hope for each of us. Recently, I watched Son of God which did an amazing job portraying the life of Jesus, as well as His crucifixion which brought to my mind His sacrifice.

As I’ve been preparing for the World Race, it has not always been easy. But, I’ve found such peace in every situation because I know God is calling me to the World Race. It’s not easy leaving my family, friends, and a man that I’ve fallen in love with…but God is calling me to go…I will still be able to communicate with everybody even though I will have to sacrifice seeing them for 11 month…but Jesus sacrificed His life for me…the least I can do is go where He has called me to go. My work of 8 years, which I love, decided not to grant me a sabbatical to hold my job while I’m gone…but Jesus sacrificed His life for me…the least I can do is go where He has called me to go…even if I will not have a job when I return. I know that God will strengthen each relationship while I’m gone and that He will provide a job when I return. Although each of these situations could cause me to worry and doubt; I’ve choose to have faith and believe!

What is God calling you to sacrifice? Whatever the sacrifice that you have been worried about and doubting choose to have faith today and step out in what God is calling you to do. Maybe it is a ministry at your church, maybe it is starting a bible study at your work or school, maybe it is giving up your time to help those in need. Wherever God is calling you to go, take the first step today.
