As I get closer to my departure the majority of the questions I have been getting have been about packing; such as, "How do you pack for 11 months?," "What do you pack for 11 months?", or "Can you only have 1 bag with 50 pounds?" If you have been wondering the same, this blog is for you. This is what I am starting out with but it does not mean it was the best idea or what I will have at the end, considering I don't even know what to pack (for all you future racers reading this). And yes, it did fit in my bag and I am still at about 50 pounds (granted that was after about 3 repacks and removing more items). For all the curious minded, here you go:

(This was my first packing attempt. Not everything you see made it in the bag.)
- 1 Tent
- 1 Sleeping Bag
- 1 Sleeping Bag liner (easier to clean if I get bed bugs)
- 1 Sleeping Mat (this could be my bed for the next 11 months)
- Pillow (my normal, not a travel size)
- My Teddy Bear (very important for comfort on homesick nights)
- 1 Towel
- 5 Short-sleeved Shirts

- 1 Bottle of Fingernail Polish Remover (travel size)
- 1 Bottle of Sunscreen
- 1 Bottle of Bug Screen
