Last weekend we had a few days free from our ministry in Ireland, so a few of my teammates and I took the opportunity to see London! We’ve discussed going for a few weeks and everything was finally able to work out. For some reason London has always been one of the few places that I’ve wanted to go. I really don’t have a reason for it, London has just always been a place in my head that I wanted to go to and possibly move to. So, I figured it was only fitting to take the chance to go for a weekend and see what I really think of it!

We left from Dublin and took a ferry (about 3 1/2 hours) to Holyhead. From there we took a train to Chester (2 hours) and then changed to another train that took us on to London (another 2 hours or so). Overall, travel was great! I mean, it took less than a day and after you experience World Race travel days a day of travel seems like nothing! =)

We found a hostel to stay at that was pretty sweet cause it was walking distance to most of the things we wanted to do. We also stayed in a room with 14 people =) gotta love hostel living!

Somehow we packed almost all of the touristy attractions into the day and a half that we had! It’s was a whirlwind for sure, but a fun one! We also had the opportunity to talk with some of the others at the hostel about our faith and had some great discussions with them!

I think that my favorite part was finding the guard’s barracks and getting a picture with some of them =D and by finding, I mean we happened upon it and I felt the need to take the opportunity before me! hah It was also pretty awesome to see Abbey Road, getting to see Big Ben and the London Eye lit up at night, and of course Buckingham Palace. We also spent some time in Wimbledon, which is actually a really cute town. Most random thing we probably did was go to an organ concert at the Westminster Abbey. We saw people walking in and decided to check it out. Since we were there on a Sunday you couldn’t tour it, but you were welcome at the services and it just so happened that we walked into a concert and then decided to stay since it was only 30 minutes. I think I’m the only one that actually thought it was kind of really awesome!
