Well, our time in Ukraine is almost over…
This week we’ve had 100 kids at the camp. A few of their leaders know English and some of the kids know some as well so it’s been a little bit easier to talk with some of them!  I’ve had the opportunity to talk with some of their leaders more in depth and it’s so awesome to see the heart that they have for God and for these children!
Over the past three weeks we’ve had two main translators here, Pasha and Angelina (they’re cousins) Pasha left last week because he has another camp that he was supposed to be at and Angelina left a few nights ago.  Both times their families came to pick them pick them up and I’m pretty sure they have some of the sweetest families I’ve ever met. They’re also all very talented! When they came to pick Pasha up they ended up playing/singing some songs for the camp and then they sang us a song before they left with Angelina too. They were such a blessing to have here with us, it feels strange not to have Angelina around for our last few days here!
Random things from this week: we celebrated the 4th of July with pizza and fries at a restaurant in town =), the bridge going across the river got washed away and the guys spent the day building a temporary one since all of the kids are living in cabins on the other side of the river, speaking of sleeping arrangements-we got moved from our cabin and in our new room Sarah and I were sharing a bed…which made it all the better when we had a friendly visitor the other night (the rat got our room…we’re now sleeping in a tent until we leave), we had previously hiked 2 mountains-yesterday we hiked up one mountain and then went across and down by the other, the two girls I promised to go on the hike with ended up staying at camp and doing crafts…I’m not quite sure how that happened…
On Friday we’ll be leaving Ukraine and beginning the trek to Romania.  We’re taking a train back to Kiev (same way we got here, so only 16 or so hours on the train), we’ll have a few hours at the Kiev train station and then we’re taking another train on to Bucharest, Romania. We’re scheduled to arrive in Bucharest Sunday night, right around 48 hours travel time =D
Once we get to Romania my team will be working with two other teams at an orphanage in Bucharest!!! I’m pretty excited about getting to minister with other teams and of course for hopefully getting to work with orphans and at risk children…but expectations are overrated so we’ll see what all we end up doing!
I have plenty of pictures to upload as soon as we have a better internet connection! =)  So hopefully I’ll have them up next week!
