I’ve wondered for a while now what this post would look like when I was finally able to introduce all of my friends and family to my team. In all honesty, that was one of the more nerve racking things for me about the world race…who would I be on a team with? Would I like them? Would I get along with them? What if our personalities were polar opposites? Yea, all of those things have run through my head for a while now, but thankfully, I LOVE MY TEAM!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to become my new family =)

The name Cheetahs came about the first time that the 7 of us worked together in one of the team building exercises. We were given a one word objective and told to go…the word was build and so naturally we decided to build a human pyramid =D However, if you’re going to be in a human pyramid you need a name so that you can shout a cheer once in said pyramid. Sarah threw out Cheetahs and we all agreed that it was a good team name. We weren’t actually trying to come up with our team name at this point in time, we were just thinking of the present time and the activity at hand. Once we found out that the 7 of us are in fact a team though we all felt drawn back to Team Cheetahs….Chasing after God. Our purpose and drive for the next year is to keep our focus on God and chasing after who He has called us to be.

We also decided upon a few different scriptures that really show our hearts for the next year:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ~Hebrews 12:1-2a

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.  ~Jeremiah 29:13

Do you now know that in a race all of the runner run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.  ~1 Corinthians 9:24-25
