Konnichiwa (Hello) from Japan! This month we are serving in Osaka, Japan at Ashiyahama Family Center. We are working in the preschool and helping with bible studies and English classes with the moms at the family center. We are paired up in groups of two and staying with Japanese host family’s this month. The family I’m staying with lives in a suburb of Osaka near the ocean water. The view from their house is amazing (See below). Everyone at the family center has been very hospitable to us. They even coordinated bikes for us to ride this month.

Our host family has two young girls who are 5 and 6 years old. I’ve loved being able to stay with them this month and experience what life is like in Japan. It gives us a chance to learn more about the culture and it also allows us to form a deeper relationship with them than we would normally be able to do. They have been so warm and welcoming to us. This weekend we will go with them to Kyoto for the day. Here is a picture of Yoko, Saki & Yuki!

Japan is not much different than life in America. We have all the same things available to us that we have in America. Spiritually, Japan is a very dark place. It is a country in the 10/40 window where people are still in need of hearing the Gospel. We have been able to see the Lord soften the heart’s of His people here and I’m expectant to see what happens before and after we leave. The people here are very interested and curious to learn more about the God of the bible.
Below is a little girl from the family center. She is so joyful!
