Nihao everyone! We enjoyed our first month of the race doing ministry in China. We were two hours outside of Beijing in a small village called Qingyundian. We were unable to share a lot of information last month since China is a communist country. The government closely monitors any foreigners who come in, so we wanted to protect the ministry we were serving with. Our team worked with a foster home that provides life-saving surgeries and a loving home to orphans with special needs. I was able to work specifically with the younger children all month. A lot of the children we worked with stay at the foster home during the day and with their foster family’s at night.
The children at the foster home were such a blessing and joy to be around and I learned a lot just loving on them all month. I have worked with children for almost 10 years back in the states, so I loved being able to do that in China too. I was able to personally experience God’s heart for the orphan. I know that He has a purpose and plan for each child and that He is preparing their forever homes. I see His glory shining through each of the children and how He uses them to show others His love and goodness. One of my favorite things about serving at the foster home was meeting for prayer every morning to pray specifically over each of the children and organization. I believe the Lord is going to continue to do miraculous things in China and I’m amazed that He called me to be apart of what He’s doing. One of the hard parts about serving this month was knowing some of the children don’t go home with families at the end of the day. I just trust that even though I see these moments of brokenness that God is still going to weave it all into something beautiful.
Thank you to those of you who are praying for me and supporting me! I wanted to let you guys know what we did our first month and how God is also using you all to help expand His kingdom. We just arrived in Mongolia and will be doing debrief with our squad. The next few days are a time of reflecting before we start ministry here next week. More updates to come!
