I’m so excited about this opportunity to serve The Lord and be a missionary with Adventures in Missions on the World Race in 2015. Our squad will leave in January and will spend a month in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malawi, and Zambia. I can’t wait to be part of our team bringing the hope and love found only in Jesus to the people in these countries.
How I got here:
Over the past year The Lord has been transforming me and changing my desires to fit His purposes for my life. After going on a short term missions trip this past August with my church in Birmingham, a seed was planted in me for missions work. The Lord has given me such a big heart for sharing the gospel with those around the world who are unreached and living in poverty. It is my heart’s desire to see unreached people groups come to faith in Christ and worship the one true God.
I have known about the World Race and have been receiving the updates for a few years now. In January of this year I received the email update for the newest routes and started to pray. After a few weeks of praying I knew this is where The Lord was leading me next. This journey will be a big leap of faith for me. Up until this point in my walk with God I have stayed close to the shore and now I choose to go deeper so I can see Him work through me in a bigger way. This journey is completely out of my comfort zone (sleeping in a tent, cold showers, no privacy, etc). I’m excited to embark on this journey with the ultimate guide, Jesus, plus our awesome squad!
John Piper once said that, ” Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more”
One of my favorite Bible verses is Matthew 24:14. “And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come”. It is amazing to me that God based all of time around the spreading of the Gospel. I’m so thankful that the God I love, serve and worship is patient and that he wishes for none to perish but for all to come to knowledge of the truth. Please pray for me and my team as we journey around the world in 2015 to expand the Kingdom of God.
