Begani
As we were walking away from the high school our first morning in Ezendendweni, we were approached by one of the teachers. She requested that we go to her house and pray for her son. She said he was disabled and she would love for us to pray for him. Without hesitation we took her up on her request and headed over to her house. We had no clue exactly what we were getting into but we all felt God leading us to him. When we arrived we found Begani lying on a small mat in the corner of the room. He was all crunched up and twisted. I knew immediately what was wrong. Begani is a 10-year-old boy that was born with Cerbal Palsy. I instantly feel in love. He had a smile from ear to ear. Even though he was unable to speak we enjoyed spending hours with him and communicated through his smile.

Every morning after spending some time at the schools we would head over to visit with Begani. It was my favorite part of everyday. His father would always greet us and let us know that Begani had been waiting on us all morning.  As we would walk into the room he would try to position his tangled body so that he could see us enter the room. He was so precious.  He was ready to see God work in His life.

We would pray, sing and talk with Begani during our visits. The first morning after leaving Scottie and I both shared visions that God had given us while praying for Him. Scottie saw his mother crying as Begani ran around and played with the otheBeganir children. I saw his father crying as he ran around playing. We knew that God was telling us He is going to bring healing to Begani. With complete confidence we returned to visit him everyday for the two weeks we were in Ezendendweni. Everyday it was becoming more and more evident that his mobility was increasing and his muscles were beginning to relax.

We spent many moments with Begani from singing Old McDonald and hearing him snort when it came to the pig to sitting through a storm after the window in the house blew out. The time spent with Begani changed my life. The joy that that child shared was incredible. He couldn’t move from his square in the corner but yet he spent his day laughing and smiling. Wow! That is joy.
Begani wasn’t completely healed while we were there but the healing was defiantly taking place. I am fully convinced that I will here the story about him running some day soon. His father caught us on our way out of town. He let us know that he believes that the healing is happening and he knows God is going to heal his son. Please continue to pray with me that God will completely heal Begani. Nothing is impossible for our God. He is a miracle worker and it is time we start to pray with faith and trust that He will heal the sick! Our God is alive. Let’s believe in Him!
