Yesterday was our
last day with the children. For me it
was a very sad day. During this month I got to love on a little boy who stole my heart away.

His name is Cola (like I said in Moldova in a
nut shell
, that’s how you pronounce it, not really sure how you spell it). I’m going to tell you a little about him and
then maybe he will steal your heart away too.

Cola is 5, like my preschoolers last year.  He has two older sisters.  The
three of them live with there Grandmother. There Mom and Dad are both addicts. Mom is a drug addict and Dad is a alcoholic. In the 6 days we spent with the kids I did
not see him wear many different clothes, and most of the clothes he wears are
girls clothes because his clothes are all hand-me-downs from his sisters.

When I said goodbye
to Cola yesterday I had to hold back tears until I was out of view. This morning at the market with Larissa and a
few of the other girls Larissa told me in her broken English that Cola cried
himself to sleep last night and didn’t sleep much because he had to say goodbye
to me. This immediately brought tears to
my eyes. Larissa then told me that I
resemble Cola’s mom a lot.

I loved that I could
love on Cola, language barrier and all. He picked apples and flowers for me. And I was able to buy him some candy at the store. We played tag and ran around together. He also loved when I could spin him in
circles. I’m sure going to miss Cola,
but he will always be in my heart and prayers!

I got to capture Cola on video so below you will see him in action!
