Hey all!
I wanted to update everyone on my latest news: I have officially switched routes! I originally signed up to go on the January 2015 Route 2 but recently felt like God was calling me a little more outside my comfort zone. So now I am on the January 2015 Fusion Route. On the WR webpage this is what it says about this route:
“The body of Christ is diverse. It’s inclusive. Christ’s grace is available to everyone. But when you look into many churches, you find Christians still gather in groups of people just like themselves. In western Christian culture, it’s easy to become isolated without even realizing it. We are challenging that isolation.”
I am so pumped to get to live and serve with people who are coming from totally different backgrounds than me. This will be challenging but I think I can learn so much from my wonderful new teammates. I can hardly wait to see how the Lord will use this team! Is it January yet? 🙂
And yes, for those of you wondering: I am packed already! 😉
There were a few different reasons I decided to switch routes, but the main one was China. I just read the book The Heavenly Man by Brother Yun and Paul Hattaway. This book is a true story about this Chinese missionary’s life and how He served the Lord faithfully, no matter what came his way. It was encouraging to see someone so dedicated to our Savior. While I read the book, China was really on my heart. Since the Fusion Route goes there – I decided to switch! I’m not sure why the Lord has placed China on my heart, but I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve there and see all He is already doing.
So now I am going to: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Swaziland, Lesotho, South Africa, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, and the good ol’ USA! I’m extremely excited to serve in my own country alongside people who will have a completely different perspective of the States than I do. YAY!
I’m so thankful the Lord has made His will for my life very clear and thankful that He is continuing to provide faithfully everyday!
Thanks for taking time to catch up with me!
Love y’all!
Heather
