Day 1: Sam, Jena, and I are asked to squad lead (you can read more about that
here.)
Day 2: Sam wakes up with a pinched nerve (any guesses on the culprit?)
Day 3: The squad gets together for a debrief (team changes galore!)
Day 4: Sam’s pinched nerve continues (And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.– Romans 8:28.)
Day 5: -Sam asks for prayer from the squad for the pinched nerve (Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.- James 5:14)
-Alicia prompts Ana-Lisa to exercise the gift of healing that we believe the Lord has given to her (And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.– 1 Cor 12:28)
-The squad prays (somewhat lifelessly) over Sam
-I feel as if I and the rest of the squad are hitting a block…. I begin to pray softly for a shift in energy and for faith from our squad in what God wants to do (And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.- James 5:15)
-Ana-Lisa prays out over the prayers of the squad and confirms Sam’s decision to ask for prayer by announcing that the Lord was just talking to her about Sam. He told her that He admired her belt of truth. (Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place- Ephesians 6:14)
-Ana-Lisa speaks truth over Sam and rebukes the lies that the enemy has been telling her (When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.– John 8:44)
-The Lord tells me that someone is holding something back. (Whoever is of God hears the words of God– John 8:47)
-Candace speaks out that someone is holding something back.
-The Lord tells me that it is Sam who is holding back.
-Sam speaks out that she had been holding back… that she had just received a vision of Candace holding her shoulder as the rest of us prayed for her, but she hadn’t wanted to speak that out. (In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.– Acts 2:17)
-Obeying the vision and The Lord, Candace assumes her position at Sam’s right side, holding the shoulder that is in pain as we all pray again for healing. (And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues…they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.– Mark 16:17)
-The Lord tells me that Sam needs to hear that she can trust what He is telling her. He puts the song “Give me Faith” on my heart so I begin singing the song under my breath….
. “Give me faith to trust what you say… that You’re good, and Your love is great.”
-Without hearing me, Kiersten begins to sing that same song out loud and the whole squad joins in.
-Candace prays loudly and boldly over Sam, asking God to do something outside of the box that we have placed Him in. (Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,- Ephesians 3:20)
-We end our prayer and ask Sam to move her shoulder to see if the pain is gone.
-Sam is COMPLETELY HEALED in Jesus’ name!! (O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.– Psalm 30:2)
Conclusion: We serve an incredibly loving and powerful God who desires to use His entire church body to bring glory to His Great Name!
