In August of 2009, as I prepared to go on The World Race (hannahvitkus.theworldrace.org), a missions adventure that included 11 months and 11 countries in which my team and I served, ministered, fed the hungry, played with children, and comforted the widowed, I felt a tug.
A tug to help Haitians in any way possible. At first, I thought it was a tug to place I had neither no previous interest in nor any desire to see. But after I learned about this country’s need, the people’s need, I could not help but praying.
My prayers then led to a partnership with a Nashville musician, Hillary McBride, whose heart breaks for God’s people in Haiti. Our partnership (along with other musicians and non-musicians alike) led to a benefit concert to help raise funds and awareness for this small country’s orphans.
The benefit concert was a success, but there is still a need. A need to serve. A need to love. A need to support. A need to go.
So, after devastating earthquake on January 12th, 2010, I not only desired to go, I knew I had to.
But…I was in New Zealand, serving alongside YWAM with my World Race team.
So…I prayed. I asked God: “May I go?” I asked a leader, “May I go?”
Due to budgets and being literally half-way around the world, I knew I would have to wait.
I waited. I prayed. I served in 4 continents and 11 countries.
And now…the time is NOW!
I am support raising again. I NEED YOUR HELP.
Please give. Both your financial and prayer support is what my team and I need for our 6-day RELIEF trip in March.
Thank you for you. And for your prayers and support. There is no way, no way at all, that I could do this or even be the woman of God I am called to be, serve, love, and go WITHOUT YOU.
Thank you and God bless you in all that you do!
