I feel out of the loop. A world away. But I decided to give this up my usual news-gathering tendencies this year as a full-time missionary. I cannot check the news and read my usual newspapers with the limited internet access I have here in Tarunga. Which has surprisingly only been an issue the last few days as I learn, little-by-little, about the devastation that has occurred in Haiti. I ache to know more and to become aware of the details of the earthquake. I ache to know details about the the Hope Center (a non-profit Christian orphanage, school, and medical center that I helped organize a benefit concert for in October.)

With all that said, please pray for me as I sort through my discomfort. For as much as I relish the trees and mountains that surround us here in New Zealand, I desire to go to Haiti to help out in any way possible. Which is not a solo thought within my team–all six of us want to help in any way possible, even if this would change our route. Thank you, dear friends.
