When your thinking about coming to Project Searchlight, I’m sure you are thinking that this is just another AIM event with a cool acronym.

ATL, PVT, TC, WR , GY, with many many other and now add PSL to that great list. If you’re new to this whole AIM thing, y’all are going to need to pull out the AIM for Dummies handbook, because an acronym is literally the name for the organization.

The thing with PSL, is that it isn’t another acronym that you get to check off the World Race to do list. No, this is a tool that helps you adjust, understand, and trust the process that God is putting you through going home.

So I have made a list of reasons why people like you, now alumni racers and gaplings, should attend this fantastic week of fun.

1. Your back in Gainesville.
Yes, I am sure that you have NIGHTMARES about the crazy 10 days that you have had in the 100 degree humid heat of Training Camp. I’m sure that there are some negative feelings about this experience as well as some very positive ones. The thing about being back in the place where it all began is that it shows you how far you have come since that time. You can’t resist this as you go to breakouts and worship in the very places that God broke you down before you even knew what the World Race was going to do to you. (P.S. no bucket showers, no tents, and you can go to McDonalds in the middle of the night if you want)

2. Comfort.
This is a blissful 5 day vacation of comfortability. You are in a space where you no longer have to worry about the weight that America brings you, and trust me, it feels like you are breathing for the first time in a long. When was the last time you were in Corporate worship? Receiving some wise words from some wise people who speak truth over you life? Have people who care so deeply about you and your walk with the Lord that they set out a week to help you walk in the promises that He has given you? Oh, yes, probably about 3-6 weeks ago when you stepped off a plane in America, separated from you Squad and were “welcomed home” but yet Home seemed so far away.

3. Your people.
Have you felt alone? Had to call your mom into the bathroom while you showered because you couldn’t deal with the fact that you were totally and completely on your own for the first time?
Well then come on down to PSL! We will supply you with your favorite people, the most loving and caring staff that spend their week pouring into you and some yummy yummy food!
Being back with your squad, and other squads, who have walked, lived and loved you through everything makes you feel sane in a place where you feel like everything is not quite right. They get you, and you get them, and that love that you have shared for the last 9 or 11 months gets to carry on in such a special way that is new, different, and ground breaking.

4. Breakthrough, no Breakdowns.
Emptiness, loneliness, and lost(ness?) is how I felt for the 3 weeks that I had spent at home alone. I freaked out my waiter at a Chinese restaurant because he asked me what I wanted to eat, started to cry, and then ran to the bathroom. IT IS REAL. And we all have a different crazy story of the overwhelming feelings that overcome us in the moments of the “American lifestyle” and maybe you’re a proud owner of more than one. It’s exhausting when you constantly feel like something is going to cause you to breakdown, and usually those breakdowns are stemmed from something deeper than what is actually going on in the moment. PSL gives you the space, time and freedom to come before God with those overwhelming things, walk through them, dive in deeper and get ready for what God has for you HERE, RIGHT NOW. We all have 1 million things that we might have planned for after we get home, or maybe you have no plans at all. PSL gives you guidance for both of those situations. You dive deeper into reentry, cultivating community and fight for your intimacy with the Lord.

5. Release.
This is your time to fully release your last season and allow God to fully anoint you for the next. You are ready for this. God doesn’t belong in your World Race box, he belongs in the everyday moments, and in the everyday steps that you are going to make to advance His Kingdom.

PSL is for you. It’s for anyone searching, longing for the most that you can get out of living out this next season. It’s for anyone who has fallen back into old ways and needs to get back on track. It’s a wake up call for us all that we are chosen and equip to advance Gods will. Project Searchlight is for you, just as much as it is for me, and every other World Race Alumni.

Congrats, you’ve made it. Welcome to Life after the Race.
