Hi from Nicaragua!
I really have no excuse as to why this blog is so overdue. I apologize. Life is crazy.
We arrived here in Nicaragua about a week and a half ago. Our ministry here is Light and Salt Ministries in Ciudad Dario, (they have a Facebook page…go look it up!) Its been a lot different than I though it would be, but in a super cool way. Instead of being an actually school, LASM is a training center in addition to the boys formal schooling where the boys can learn work skills and english and learn about the Bible. Lindsay and Katie have taken over on English classes, I lead a ladies devotional/bible study for a group of single moms who come to the school for job training (sewing and business lessons) and I’ve had the super cool opportunity to join their class and learn how to use a treadle sewing machine with them!! I’ve also helped our ministry host by organizing and entering in the receipts and donation inventories for the last couple months, which I’ve really enjoyed. The guys have intermittently helped with manual labor on the centers other location, or helped us out by running devotionals for the boys.
