It’s the end of month 1 and J-squad is currently waiting to board the plane in Miami to head to Bolivia for month 2. I thought of instead of a word blog I’ll post a picture blog to show some things that we did this past month. I hope you enjoy these cute faces and fall in love with some of those smiles like I did this month.
One of the first villages we went to was Transformation Village. We did door to door evangelism and stayed at this house for a while. So many kids joined us while we were talking with the ladies of the home.
Playing musical “chairs” with the kids. Us Americans were the chairs… it was a little scary at times
Part of J-squad that spent the month at Mission of Hope. The mission took us on a tour of another campus they have at Bercy that will host teams and also host classes for pastors every week until January when they start a 2 year program.
Team Deep Pursuit (TDP) striking a pose at Bercy
My team – Deep Pursuit – worked at the MOH orphanage one day sorting clothes. We had some fun with the orphan boys playing dress up.
Haitian sunrise. We were lucky to wake up to this every morning!
All bundled up for the trek up the mountain to a MOH village called Turpin. We had to bundle up because of all the dust.
One last time with our boys from the MOH orphanage! Sarah, Shannon, Liana, Iverson, Oshunel, their orphanage momma, me, Jesse, and Mackenlove.
Crazy Roberto…
What most of our pictures with these boys looked like… two of them fighting and the others not paying attention. I already miss these energetic boys.
My heart aches leaving these boys in Haiti.
Haiti was an incredible month where God has already taught me so much. This next month is going to be crazy different (we were spoiled with our living conditions in Haiti) but I’m still excited. The fact that I was leaving part of my heart with the people of Haiti didn’t hit me until our plane took off and we left the ground. I talked with one of my squadmates, who felt the same way, and we reassured each other that this is not the end – either we’ll be back or see them for eternity!
Grace and Peace,
Hannah
