Dear Pre-race Hannah Peachey,
It is so easy to tell people that you are going on an 11 month mission trip and be excited. But somehow that excitement dwindles when you know you are leaving so soon. Fear sets in, Satan is telling you day after day that you are not good enough to do this, you are inadequate. But when you listen you can hear God saying, “you are right, you can’t do this. But through your weakness I am strong. I am going with you.”
God’s peace is amazing. Overwhelming even, that you have been surrounded by his peace and know without a doubt that for the next 11 months this is where he wants you. Always remember the peace you felt during those good-byes, through the tears and all the hugs. How calm and safe you held In his arms.
This is year all about stretching you and strengthening you in your relationship with Christ. God is going to use you and put you in uncomfortable situations. But remember he never gives you more than you can handle. Trust trust trust!
Draw close to your team. They are your support system and accountability group. But how can they hold you accountable if they don’t know your struggles. Be open. Show feelings and emotions. Learn how to process them. When you feel yourself shutting down and pulling away, DON’T. This team is a safe place. Use them. And be there for them. Be selfless. Encourage them and push them on in their race.
Finally,
Draw close to your Dad. He has brought you to this place and no matter how how inadequate you feel, remember that he is always with you. He sent you the Holy Spirit and you can’t mess up. He is giving you words to speak. And he is already preparing the hearts of the people you come in contact with!
Go, but go with God.
With Love,
Hannah
