So, because of slow internet connection I pretty much stopped blogging and checking email the past 2 weeks….but now I am back with “25 Things I Did in Guatemala”
 
1.  Went to a mall in Chiquimula and got a Twix McFlurry.  so good.
2.  Slept in a real bed every night, mattress and sheets included.
3.  Learned the songs Celebrate Jesus Celebrate and Open the Eyes of My Heart in Espaniol (Spanish)
4.  Rode in the back of a truck with 12 other people up the side of a mountain…more then once.
5.  Visited the Mayan ruins in Copan, Honduras (before the borders were closed)
6.  Held a VBS for 3 days in one of the mountain villages for the kids since the schools closed due to the swine flu.
7.  Bought a colorful purse with a yellow pocket that zippers
8.  Began a healing process in my heart that will probably take the whole year, but will ultimately bring freedom!
9.  Put together food bags for the Embrace child sponsorship program
10.  Cut up over 300 of the biggest carrots I have ever seen for said Embrace program
11.  Helped pass out cake, juice, birthday presents, and vitamins to families in the Embrace program on Saturdays
12.  Weighed and measured Embrace kids to see their level of malnutrition
13.  Went swimming in the pool
14.  Was pushed in the pool
15.  Was pushed in the pool a second time
16.  Delivered school packets to 4 different mountain village schools before they closed the schools
17.  Ate more tortillas then I could count
18.  Had Domino’s pizza!
19.  Began letting go of any plans I ever had for my future…Realized that God needs to be in control of that too!
20.  Learned the power of prayer and speaking life over one another
21.  Swept leaves out of gutter
22.  Performed a drama for 2 different church services- I was given a new heart from Jesus
23.  Learned and will continue to be learning, to hold my identity in Him, and not what others think of me or what I think of myself
24.  Cleaned toilets and made up a song and dance about it with my teammate Leigh
25.  Turned 25!!!  Beep beep!  Celebrated with brownies, ice cream, balloons, a 4 hour bus ride to Guatemala City, and a dinner at Chili’s at the biggest mall ever.  Seriously, I felt like I was in America, the waiters even sang to me in English.
