Have you ever had a dream or a desire to do something that was so big and so out there that when you told people, they looked at you like you were crazy? That’s where I’m at right now. I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to pursue my passion and to make a difference in this world. At the end of June I will be embarking on the greatest journey thus far in my life! I didn’t think things could get bigger than moving to Texas at 19, but they did! I will be going on an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries! Yes. You read that right. ELEVEN countries in ELEVEN months! This incredible trip is with the organization Adventures in Missions which was started in 1989 and has sent over 100,000 missionaries since. They have seven different mission programs and the one I will be a part of is THE WORLD RACE. And the question that comes to everyone’s mind… “So it’s like the Amazing Race?” Not really. We won’t have a camera crew following us all over or doing crazy challenges to see who can get the money first. We are racing to save lives though. The life we have is so short and there are millions who have yet to hear the name of Jesus Christ or even experience His love.
One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not just a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into the calling that each one of us has on our lives. Through the World Race, my team and I will partner with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring hope, healing and the love of Jesus to many tribes and nations.
This is my heart and my passion. I’ve been to Sierra Leone, Africa in 2009, inner city LA in 2013, and Guatemala in 2014 and seeing all the brokenness and hurt of this world, including in our own country, broke my heart for Gods people. I know I can’t save everyone but if I can bring light back into their eyes and help restore the faith of the people I encounter on this life journey, that’s enough for me. I believe in the God I serve and I believe in unexplainable miracles, because I am one, and I want to share that kind of freedom with people. I don’t want to be selfish and hoard such an incredible love!
My crazy dream is to be a missionary. To go to the unreached and forgotten people. This is where you come in. I am asking that you partner with me on this journey either as a prayer partner – praying diligently for me and my team as we prepare to leave, while we are there, and our transition once we come back, and/or financially – a one-time donation or a monthly supporter. The whole trip will cost $16,277. BREATHE!! (I freak out at that number too). God told me to GO on this trip and I said YES and because of that I have total faith and trust in God that everything I need will be provided. Please pray about this. If you aren’t able to help financially don’t disqualify yourself from being helpful! I can always, always use prayer! There is power in prayer.
