What am I doing here?!

I’m sitting in an office for a foundation that gives F-R-E-E care to pastors and their families who are burnt out.

I’m sitting listening to The Gaithers in the background being played by our Philippino Dad.

I’m sitting in THAILAND.

How did I get here? This is kind of crazy.

What am I doing here?!

This month has been a month of beauty and relaxation, for sure.

We have seen some of the rare, “only locals know about”, beautiful, lush scenery. We have painted an entire house. We’ve ridden elephants. We have acted out the Creation of the World and Jesus’ Birth. We helped with 12-19 Thai toddlers. We continued construction on a home for widows. We’ve sang a LOT of hymns–both Thai and English. We’ve shown the love of Jesus to local merchants. We’ve drank a lot of coffee and eaten a lot of bread. We’ve told our stories. We’ve jumped at the thought of having an “extra” fan at night. We’ve done yoga on the ABC’s. We’ve experienced Thai massages. And most importantly, we’ve grown.

We’ve grown to know that God is God no matter where we go. If we’re evangelizing on the street corner or painting a house for a tired landlord, He is there. We have grown to see that we don’t have to be preaching to show that there’s something more to us. We can simply live life and help our neighbors to show who He really is.

When I think of Thailand from now on, I’ll think of the beauty of the surrounding greenery. I’ll think of growth.
