Since beginning this World Race adventure, the Lord has placed Asia on my heart. This being my first stop in Asia, I am beginning to understand why I’ve been burdened with this continent.
Cambodia has been a place where death has been reaped. Not too long ago, as we know, a genocide took place along the very street I’m living. Many people lost their lives. All for what? Pure evil.
Due to this catastrophic event, Cambodia has been in desperate need of life from a savior, the Savior.
Working at Bykota House this month, I’ve seen the fruit of His life among His people. I believe death has no hold on this country any longer.
Observing mischievous pre-teen boys smile and run around seeing what they can get away with, reviewing motor skills with cerebral palsy inflicted kids, loving on autistic boys, singing with the girls, listening to Khmer conversations pretending I know what’s going on, dancing instead of sleeping, and laughing with a young mom of 19–all for love. His love.
I’ve learned by watching and imitating what true servanthood is–teaching, inspiring, sewing, cooking, crying, laughing, hugging, high-fiving, cleaning, running, swinging, sea-sawing, and most importantly loving.
That’s what’s being sewn here in Cambodia now–love.
