Just in the short month and a half that I have been fully committed to starting this journey, I have already seen how God is preparing me for what is to come. However, the question is still so bold in my mind; What is actually coming?
Ya see, I am very much so a person that likes to be in charge of all situations in my life. I want to make sure that I know what’s going on. This doesn’t necessarily mean I have a rock-solid plan, but I do always want to know the ultimate goal. Oh how God stretches me daily in this area!
This is where my faith comes into play. Applying to go on The Race in general has required faith, not only from me, but from my family and friends as well. For us as Followers, it is so hard sometimes to trust in such a crazy calling or command God has given us. It’s hard for us to fathom how we are going to successfully achieve such incredible tasks bestowed upon us. It’s hard to even know how to start in most cases.
It’s been a slow start in this race for me, to be honest. This month has been hard in more than one way. I’ve been really challenged with my school work. I’ve been really tested with my job. I’ve been really tried in my relationships. This is where He becomes that much more important.
God always has a funny way of revealing himself to me. Just when I get overwhelmed in my daily, mundane work; H e o v e r w h e l m s m e. This is why I continue to have faith. He is so prevalent in my life, even when I’m not necessarily looking for Him.
I have to hold on in faith that He’s still got me. He’s still leading me beside still waters. He’s going to let me rest in nice green pasture. He’s protecting me and preparing me for what is to come.
Although it’s almost killing me to know what’s going to happen during The Race, I know God’s got it. It’s a simple declaration that means so SO much. I do know that I will encounter so many different cultures with so many different people…words cannot express my excitement!
