Being that I have less than a week left here in South Africa, I figured I would write down some things I have learned so far on the race. There’s a lot, enjoy 

1. Personal space is not a thing
2. Tans lines are a thing
3. Peanut butter is a life saver
4. You don’t always need water to brush your teeth
5. Cramped car rides with forever be
6. Francine rivers is sometimes the only person that keeps you sane
7. Hot showers are a blessing
8. You will never regret praying for someone on the side of the road
9. Opening letters from friends and family are highlights of your day
10. Not everyone likes giving back scratches, but when they do you praise Jesus for it
11. You can never have to many pairs of Nike shorts
12. You can do every job in chacos
13. You think you packed light, yet you will continue to get rid of things
14. Small notes are the sweetest surprises
15. Living in community is hard, yet the most rewarding type of living
16. Bungee jumping is a MUST if you get the chance
17. Always get food at rest stops in Asia. You never know when you are going to stop again
18. Cute stray dogs are not always nice
19. Ugly stray dogs aren’t always mean
20. Monkeys aren’t nice.
21. You can never take TOO many pictures
22. It is possible to share a bathroom with 13 people
23. It is possible to use baby wipes as toilet paper for an entire month
24. You never stop eating rice
25. Ben rector has a beautiful voice
26. Have your lice comb with you at ALL times
27. You can swim in rice fields
28. WEAR SUNSCREEN
29. Kids will forever jump on you like you are a jungle-gym
30. You will lose/ break things from home and think the world is over. RIP life is good hat and water bottle
31. You will fall in love with each place you visit and cry forever when leaving them
32. You go to the mall to buy pens
33. You need your teammates
34. Cliff jumping is necessary
35. Chocolate in Africa is real good
36. Feedback is a thing
37. You will become artsy whether you like is it not.
38. Hard drives store SO MUCH information
39. Cows are everywhere
40. Deleting social media isn’t as hard as it seems
41. There are cute clothes over seas. Thank you cotton on and country feeling
42. Sometimes all there is to eat is bread.
43. The pictures you see on the internet don’t do the race justice for what it’s actually like.
44. You become so adjusted to the heat that 70 degrees and lower gives you goosebumps
45. South Africans are sarcastic, Asians are not
46. Ice cream is good in every country
47. You won’t always shower in clean water
48. Napkins are sometimes not a thing
49. Team phones ring 528384926 times a day
50. You get used to not eating chick Fil a that you no longer crave it
51. You become used to drinking full cream milk instead of skim. #istilllikeskimbetter
52. You forget the feeling of what it’s like to walk on carpet throughout the house, so you start wearing socks
53. Baby powder is a MUST in Asia
54. If you are offered a fan, accept
55. You stress over what souvenirs you should bring home
56. You can use one tube of toothpaste for 6 months
57. You almost have a heart attack when your church speaks in English and worships like no other
58. You will share everything; including food
59. silent dance parties are always welcome
60. Jeffreys Bay, also know as Jesus Bay, is the most beautiful place
