Welcome to India where…
You eat curry for every meal
Women have to cover their shoulders and ankles
You eat with your hands
Cows and pigs roam free
I had lice for two weeks
Everyone stares at you and tries to take your picture

In October we were in Andre Paresh, India working with Covenant Church.  The church we were staying in was also a girl’s home to ten girls whose parents could not take care of them.  Our ministry consisted of being in charge of church services, which would happen every night.  We would go out into different villages and sing songs, give testimonies, and messages.  This was the first time I ever shared a message and it was intimidating at first, (especially since it was supposed to be an hour long) but it ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be.

Another big part of our ministry was prayer.  We would sometimes make home visits and pray for people before the service or we would pray after the service for anyone who needed it.  Overall, India was a challenging but fruitful month.  I learned a lot about Indian culture and Hinduism.  It was challenging to have a dress code and do evangelism work everyday but I grew a lot in my confidence to preach the gospel.
