On the Race, I have been on at least 9 7+ hour bus rides. In fact, to travel in Asia, I have used more buses than airplanes. I have been on sleeper buses, regular buses, small vans….
I have also been on 4ish planes (I lose count). Did you know that in other countries an airplane can called an airbus?
Well, the 7 hour bus that my team took from Bangkok to Mahasarakham literally was like an “airbus.” It was a bus, but it had so many commodities of an airplane/airport. It was one of the nicest buses I’ve ever been on since being on the Race.
Here’s the similarities:
-Before leaving, there was a waiting room like in an airport.
-They had “gates” for the buses.
-You had to “check” your bag like in an airport with a tag and everything.
-You had a ticket they had to check before going on the bus.
-They had bathrooms ON the bus.
-They had overhead storage.
-They had movies (I watched the “Accountant” and “Trolls”) on a screen in front of you.
-They had an female attendant dressed professionally like on an airplane who showed us our seats, brought us food, etc.
-On the seat in front of you, they had a tray that could be propped up for food.
-They gave out meals.
-They even gave out PENUTS!
What more could you want for a travel day?
