In my last post, I talked about how our squad had the opportunity to go into the dance bars and minister to the girls there. It was a rather eye-opening night and there is something else I want to talk about from that.

This morning I went to one of my favorite coffee shop to take care of some things and when I was paying my bill on the television next to the register ,was a music video of a girl clothed worse than the “dance club girls.” I asked a squad mate next to me, “What’s the difference between this and what we saw Friday night?” She responded with “There isn’t.”

I know we live in a broken world, but what is the difference between these girls and the rest of the world dressing provocatively?

I can imagine all of us, both Christians and non-Christians hate the problem of sex trafficking and women getting exploited; yet, women have become more and more over sexualized everywhere in our world.

Even today 4 year old girls are taught to be “sexy.”

How can we tell these women that they have worth when the world screams at all women that we are nothing more than bodies to be used?

There is something seriously wrong and twisted with this.

What can we do about it?

Let’s start simple–truth.

Fellow women and sisters, know we are loved and cherished by God. We are beautiful. We are image-bearers of Christ. Love and respect yourself. Believe in yourself. Know you are meant for more. YOU ARE WORTHY! I know this because it says it in the Bible. And I have it on good authority that the Bible is truth. When we know our worth in Christ, we can speak truth and worth to our sisters and our brothers. And when we are able to support each other in our weak moments and we are unified in this, the enemy LOSES.

Also, men, respect us. Whether wives, sisters, daughters, or friends–Christ made us too. Love us the way Christ loves us. And in turn, we can love and respect you how God has created you. You also are made as image-bearers of Christ. You are special. You are manly, strong, good, and kind. YOU ARE WORTHY! When you know your worth in Christ, you can build up your brothers and build up your sisters.

We all need to know where our true identity comes from. If we have our identity in anything but God, we will live that way. Please ask God where your identity lies right now and where it needs to be. It makes a HUGE difference in how we live life. And honestly, as Christians we are CALLED to more! We get to truly live and share the gift with others

But we can’t give freedom and truth if we aren’t walking in freedom and truth ourselves.

If we do, we can do the following:

-Be the church that God calls us to be

-Be a difference in this evil world

-We can be a city on the hill and a light in the darkness

-We can bring Kingdom here on earth

-Be what He calls us to be
