Hello there! Just your friendly, neighborhood (or not so neighborhood) World Racer here.

This post I just want to tell you what we have been doing in Nepal since getting here.

This month is all squad month so all 51 of my squad plus 3 squad leaders and 1 squad content manager are squeezed into a 4 story building. It is a bit tight, but it has been great bonding as as squad and doing ministry together. After this month we will go back to doing ministry in cities just by team.

We began our first couple days in Kathmandu, Nepal in debrief. It was a time for us to recharge, go to leadership for questions about the month and things we learned/experienced, and just work through the month and how we are doing spiritually.

Then, all 55 of us moved to a different part of Kathmandu for ministry.

We begin each day the same with spending 1 hour with God personally, but every day ministry looks different.

Our first day of ministry, we hiked up some steep hills to pray over a Hindu temple as well as to pray over the valley.

Here are some pics.

It was a beautiful view–especially since the whole area is pretty much surrounded by mountains.

It made me think of the song “As the Mountains Surround Jerusalem.”

“As the moutains surround Jerusalem,

so the Lord surrounds His people.”

And He does with my squad and He is with Nepal.

Then another day we split up and we went to villages to pray for people and love on kids.

We met this precious little one.

She was a favorite among our group. She also looks kinda sad in this picture, but when you threw her in the air and caught her, played “One, two, three, weeeeee,” or dipped her, she was one giggly, smiley child.

The next day some of our squad prepared foord while the rest went to a soccer field to await many little boys and teenage boys to play the world classic game of “football” (soccer). It was so much fun playing with them. We also had two girls that came that were so loving and they braided my hair and the hair of other squadmates. They have the blessing of being in a Christian family. Then we ate lunch and some of us performed a skit of the “Good Samaritan.” Tomorrow we will be playing football and having lunch with these kiddos again.

Here are some pictures.

The next day we went to a Buddhist temple to pray over it. If you have read one of my last blogs you know a little. It was interesting seeing the big statues and really, it was a beautiful. But it was also heartbreaking to see people worship something when I know that there is a God that loves them.

One of the highlights of this area is we do have to take a lot of busses and so as we go, we often have an opportunity to love on people. Some squadmates have been able to talk about Jesus, some have been able to encourage fellow believers, and we also have the privilege to love on some of the kiddos.

This week we have done some ministry with women in the red-light district and tomorrow we will be playing soccer with kiddos again. Next week starting on Monday our squad will be dividing up and we will be doing village ministry. Which, what that looks like yet I’ll have no idea.

But as I’m learning on this adventure, I’m just going with the flow.
