I am someone who enjoys and is thankful for the little things as well as the big things–especially since if we look, there are always little things to be thankful for and they normally far out number the big things.
So, I just wanted to take a moment and just thank God for all the things He has blessed me with. Some of the them are precious, some are silly, some are big–but they are all important to me.
I am thankful to be FULLY funded before leaving. That is a huge blessing not have to worry about finances so I can focus on ministry. Thank you all who have supported me.
I am thankful to somehow got everything packed. Somehow.
I am thankful that all the little things and big things that needed to align, did.
I am thankful to have my camp family down for New Year’s. These people are my family and I have known some of them for at least 10 years. It was a blessing to make memories with them. Then, as the New Year was coming in we shared what we could use prayers and accountability for. I wouldn’t have wanted to ring in the new year any other way.
I am thankful for the way money worked out so I didn’t have to take care of almost any of my vaccinations.
I am thankful for a God who doesn’t give up on me.
I am thankful for my family who supports me and the time we got to spend together at Christmas.
I am thankful for my squad and my team.
I am thankful for the drive down to training and how I really wanted I-Hop and God provided for it.
I am thankful to see how the parents at Parent Launch were loving on their children and then adopting others.
I am thankful for one set of parents who actually bought my lunch for today.
I am thankful for rockin’ worship that centers you on truth and on God.
And that is just some. God is really good. I am both excited and nervous to start this journey. The unknowns can be daunting. But the ability to serve and do ministry, to experience new cultures, to learn and have new experiences is exciting. Besides, I kinda get to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and that is super cool.
So, off I go. I fly out Wednesday. 🙂
