So. In 4 to 5 hours me and some other girls in my squad (#ssquadisthebestsquad fyi) are headed down to Georgia for training camp.

First thing, can it be known that I have NEVER done something like this? So after checking, packing BG (Big Green–my pack), feeling like I’m missing a ton of vital things, a couple mornings waking up early because I wake up and can’t fall back asleep…I’m leaving. For 10 days.

I get to meet those in my squad and so many other really cool things. I am both excited AND nervous, that is for sure.

God is so good though: From the big to the small, He is present with me and that brings great peace and joy to me.

For one, Sunday I checked out a new church with some friends on mine. They were talking about how as Christians our mission is to have a life ON mission. To remember PEOPLE are our mission. They were singing the song of my heart!

With the past couple weeks that I have been preparing, stressing, etc. for this trip as well as working in construction, God used this Sunday to remind me of my heart and my passion: His people, His world. This is why I am going on this trip! For a whole year, I can serve and love on His people: both in my squad and in the countries where we are working. I actively get to be Jesus’ Hands and Feet.

I love Isaiah 52:7: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring the good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘YOUR GOD REIGNS!'”

I get to bring Christ’s peace to people, I get to share salvation with them!

And in doing so, I get to be a little more like my Jesus.

Besides that, God has done little things that are really, to me, big things. When I was stressing about something, He reminded me.

When I was lacking long-enough athletic shorts, He provided me two GREAT pairs from Target for ONLY $5! each. I know, I know…it’s a little thing…but it means so much to me.

He has provided me with a great new friend back home. Even though I am leaving soon, it is great to have a friend who is similar to me in some great ways and wonderful to hang out with. We can encourage each other and that is a blessing.

He has continually and is continually providing me with funds. Especially one dear family who continues to donate: How can I be so loved?

One of the keys of life is always looking  for the silver lining. There always is even if it is tiny and amidst the transitions, the stress, the preparation, God has provided for me and big and small ways. I praise Him!

So, now who knows what He has in store for training camp: My squads next step.

Please pray for us and the other groups as we travel, learn, are stretched.

Also, PLEASE pray for some of us are getting sick (including myself).

Blessings
