Here we are. Month 11.
M squad has been on the field for 11 months.
We have come together and traveled 11 countries and 3 continents.
This month we are together and we are in Spain, but instead of a typical world race month it has been structured a little differently.
We have no host. When we started this month we had no idea what it would look like. We came in with no expectations and no idea of what God would do.
We have had the opportunity to pursue intentional ministry in the day to day, the way we will be challenged to once we step foot onto American soil.
People have done everything from make sandwiches for the homeless, serving the squad indifferent ways, evangelism, meeting with people in the city, and prayer. People have covered the bases.
As the week began, I sat down to decide what I would pursue. I had so many ideas. I had thought about pursuing the homeless, doing a free prayer sign in the city, or finding someone to pour into during our time just outside of Barcelona. But as I sat to listen to what God wanted me to do….it was none of those things.
“Be with me.”
“What do you mean?”
“Hannah, spend time with me.”
“Okay, but that doesn’t seem very impactful.”
“What have I been teaching you? Be with me.”
God asked me to spend time with him for my ministry. So, reluctantly at first, I did. And I combined it with what he has been teaching me in the last couple of months. Every morning I went up to the porch at the top of our villa (long story) and praised him and asked him for clarity in listening. And as I did this, I decided to serve my squad and make it purposeful within what the Lord asked me to do.
I stepped into prophecy and combined it with my artwork.
I sat, prayed over, listened, and painted for every person on my squad.
I spent hours in the presence of the Lord listening to what he had for them.
As I prayed over each paper (unknowing of which name was on the back) and saw for each of them, God continued to affirm this path in my life. I was able to tune in to the voice of Holy Spirit, and as a declaration of continuing to step in this direction I would like to share them with you.
As I gave them to my squad and people were able to take in what I had given them, I was affirmed again in hearing Holy Spirit. Hearing of how God had been impacting and speaking to each individual and how what I heard lined up with that is incredible.
This next week we are headed to El Camino de Santiago! We will be hiking on a journey thousands of christians before us have stepped into.
