“It’s always an adventure with you, isn’t it?”
—A quote taken from a recent conversation with my father.
Though he may have been overwhelmed (sorry Dad), I wrote this one down as a reminder… that yes, it is always an adventure with me… and that’s just how it’s supposed to be.
I’ve been learning that adventure has many faces. Adventure can be traveling around the world for 11 months or it can be living in a small town in Georgia. Adventure is simply an outlook on life. Life is what you make it… and I’m choosing every single day to make mine an adventure.
When things are great
and my life is full of excitement,
I tell myself… “Embrace the Adventure!”
When things flat out suck…
and my life terrifies me…
Or just bores me…
I tell myself… “Embrace the Adventure!”
Before the Race I wrote about a passage in 2 Corinthians, relating it to the journey ahead of me. Now I see, it doesn’t stop when the Race ends… this is about a life.
Life in Christ is NEVER ordinary. We are extraordinary beings, you see.
“By great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger [oh, the hunger], by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; by truthful speech and the power of God [the same power He worked to raise Jesus from the dead is extended to us. Resurrection is literally in our veins.]; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left, through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise…”
We are dying, but thriving.
We are poor, but oh, so rich.
We are completely unknown, yet well known.
We are sorrowful, but always rejoicing
We have nothing, but possess everything
[see 2 Cor 6]
Sounds like an adventure to me.
Speaking of adventures that are terrifying. It’s time for some news!
My time at CGA is coming to a close… and I’m moving on. The Lord has spoken of the need for ‘new wineskins’ and has asked me to trust Him as He leads me on…
So… I’m moving to Portland, Oregon.
*sound of bomb dropping*
Stayed tuned for more details… or just give me a call 😉
Love you all!
Hannah
