Let me tell you a bit about our ministry here in Darwin.

Throughout the week we do a few different things.

As I told you previously, this month my team and I have the privilege to live and work with another team. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we alternate between two ministries (More details below). On Tuesdays we spend time worshipping and praying over YWAM, various countries, our squad, and all squads in the field right now. On Thursdays we clean the YWAM base.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays one team spends the day at Vinnies, which is a men's homeless shelter of sorts. In our time there we are basically do whatever the staff needs us to do. This has involved cleaning apartments, helping with cooking lunch, cleaning the kitchen, or organizing things for them. Everyday we end with lunch with some of the residents. In this time we have the opportunity to talk with them about their lives and just spend time loving on them.

The other team is dropped off in downtown Darwin. We spend our time praying over the city and talking with people we come across.

This was such an amazing experience. On our first day in the city, I was teamed up with my teammates Brian and Morgan. We began our time sitting across the street from the parliament building, praying over any activity that goes on on any given day. We walked through a shopping center and we spent time praying over a street that full of bars and adult stores.

I had a song on my spirit throughout the entire walk:
"Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Our God reigns."

We prayed for justice. For grace. For mercy.
We prayed for softened and open hearts.
We prayed for seeds to be planted throughout this community.
We prayed the Spirit's presence into places that seem hopeless.
We rebuked the enemy and his work within this community.
We prayed, prayed, and prayed some more.

And ya know, it's amazing how spending time praying over a city can create an emotional attachment in your heart. I love this city much more now than I did last week.

After our time of ministry, I stayed downtown with Emily, Morgan, Celeste, and Erin.
We spent time relaxing together. It was truly a great day.

I had my first Aussie Burger… SO GOOD!
