Every time I see the date my heart skips a beat.
Tomorrow… tomorrow.
For months it seemed this day would never come.
But as I sit here in a Starbucks in Chicago… Tomorrow. Launch begins tomorrow.
I was reading in 2 Corinthians yesterday when I came across this passage from chapter 6:
"…but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger,
by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left;
through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as imposters, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything."
This gets my heart pounding every time I read it.
Though I don't anticipate the persecution Paul experienced in the time he wrote this, I do anticipate struggle and hardships… and probably many sleepless nights.
I purposefully broke this passage into sections. Each section is a way you can be praying for my team and I.
1. Pray for us as we go through whatever hardships or trials we may face.
2. Pray that we go through each day living… "by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness…." (Get it?)
3. Pray that we always remember that we are "more than conquerers" in Christ. (Romans 8:37) And that we will learn to see hardships as opportunity to glorify God.
Tomorrow's the day.
Here we go.
