Hello!!
I am currently sitting at Pollo Rey, which for our non Spanish speaking friends means "Chicken King". It is a fifteen minute walk from the house we are staying in, and it is here that I dip my feet into the glorious pool of WiFi after living in a desert of dis-connectivity.
This months ministry is called Dominican Rising, it has my team, visiting families, working with children, and even farming!
On Sundays and Thursday my team and I ride on the back of a truck for about an hour, marveling at the the beautiful scenery, into a village called Cativo. I love visiting the families there. Their hospitality, generosity and willingness to serve is so unbelievably humbling. I am excited to further my relationships with them this month.
Sarah and I riding to Cativo!

On Mondays and Tuesdays we walk to a part of San Jaun called Mojados. Which means "the wet ones" It is called this because it lies lower than the rest of the town and very often floods. I love it because we get to spend so much time with the kids. There are so many of them, and they have a ton of energy! We play with them and act out Bible stories, and give them as much love as we possibly can until we leave exhausted, but so happy!
On Wednesdays we take up our pick axes and shovels and head out to a small patch of land that is owned by our ministry contact. We are working on digging trenches for plantain trees, that will help to feed some of the people in the villages.
So far my time here in San Jaun has been amazing. We are blessed to have a wonderful house to stay in,along with three other teams! I cannot wait to see what the next few weeks will hold!
