So this is it!
My first blog!

The beginning of this crazy, redeeming, once-in-a-lifetime journey!

Thank you for reading this and for supporting me in my calling. While I have absolutely no desire to write a blog about myself, my adventures and my thoughts… this blog is truly intended to be about a Christ who is alive today and not only knows but cares about every hair on my head. Yours too.

In Habakkuk 1:5, the Lord tells us,

“Look at the nations and watch- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”

Well, I certainly wouldn’t have believed this, even if I were told. God’s promises are true and I am already amazed… I cannot wait to see what else He has in store for my life on this race.

I’m writing this blog with the hope that a glimpse into the life I will be living for 11 months… full of trials, stupidity, hope, adventure, love and God’s crazy grace, will remind you of this living, loving Christ and what it means to serve Him. For me, it looks like living out of a backpack while I travel to 3 continents in 11 months. For you, it might look entirely different… but I know that God has a unique purpose for each of us and if we just choose to make ourselves available to Him, He will do great things through us.

I’m going to write these blogs with the hope that as you follow along with my journey, that you will be encouraged and know that God still uses flawed human beings to change the world. He is the same God that used David, Peter, Paul and who sees beyond our sin to make disciples out of each of us.

And if He can use me, I promise He can use you too.

So thank you for reading, thank you for your love and for your prayers… for me and for those I will meet and serve along the way. I know that God’s love will be bigger than anything these people have ever known and I hope that they will crave Him in the way I do.

I know I am shaping up to leave a little piece of my heart in each place that I will never get back, but if I can share the Gospel, demonstrate His love and be an example of what God can do if we make ourselves available to Him… I truly am the lucky one.

I feel so blessed and so very undeserving of this beautiful life God had in mind for me, so I’m going to use it to follow His commands.

With my love and thanks,
xo. Hannah
