Hello reader! I don’t know what led you to this page…some of you reading this may know me well enough to write this blog for me, but I hope there are others who are developing an understanding of me through this blog because of your interest in this ministry! I am very blessed…excited…honored…to be a part of the January 2011 World Race Squad! But there is plenty of information on the actual race on the website. You came to learn about me. Here are the basics.
I am a recent graduate of Lee University and I am currently 22 years old. Baby of the 3, but I act more like a mediating middle/organized first child. I have two wonderful parents who have been married for 30 years, a sister and brother in law who have blessed us with two beautiful babies (Gabe and Eden), and an older brother who added a beautiful sister in law and dear friend to the mix. My family structure is a giant conglomeration of immediate family, extended family and dear friends who are as close as family. They are my support, my joy and my lifeline.
I graduated with a degree in special education and I plan to teach one day. It’s my passion. I feel very alive when I see the kids who struggle make even a small connection and have that “aha!” moment. I come from a long line of educators and I’m privileged to now officially call myself one, too.
A few things I heartily enjoy: grande iced coffee with cream and classic (thank you Starbucks), books that challenge me to think and to change, life dicussions with my dad, music, singing (in the car, at church, with friends, in the rain…haha), stationery, the written word, organizing, journaling, being an aunt, the night sky at my house, my hyper moods (even when no one is around to appreciate them), the women I work with, baking, eating food my brother has made from scratch, a good drenching rain (unless I need to be somewhere), running, and a big fat bowl of popcorn and M&M’s.
Something you should know about me…I’m a planner. I like to know what’s coming next. I like to think ahead and anticipate what’s coming. But something you should know about God: He is way too dynamic for that.
” In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
And I’m grateful for it! Hannah’s plans were to seek stability and venture out into the “real world” of steady careers and romance. But God began to shake things up and created an appetite in me that these small morsels of existence couldn’t begin to satisfy at present. See my support letter to learn why the world race was for me!!!
