whoooaaaa livin’ on a prraaayyyyyeerrr!

Well folks I have officially made it to the halfway mark on the race.
Who would have thought that this day would come, and that I would be sitting here writing this blog from Vietnam??

Certainly not me!

Here is just a look back on the places that I have been and the places that God has taken me in those months!

Month One: South Africa
I am so thankful for every single one of the people that I was able to meet this month. Through the children at the Human Dignity Center God really taught me the meaning of joy in every circumstance and that even when we don’t have a lot, in Him we have all that we need! Through the youth at Lighthouse Family Church He showed me that just because I am young(er) it is okay to have a fire for Christ, it is okay to live out what you believe and to really push into it!

Month Two: Swaziland
This month I was surrounded by 39 members of my family, and 40 wonderful kids!
I was surrounded by God’s beauty everyday on top of that mountain.
This month He taught me the importance of life with Him. He has never failed me, and He won’t stop now. I just have to put all of my trust in His ways not my own. I have to take those doubts and fears to the foot of the cross in total surrender!

Month Three: Ethiopia
In this month I was able to work in an eyeglass clinic through the LOVE Ethiopia festival. It was one of the hardest/ best experiences on the race so far. I got the opportunity to pray for people that I probably wouldn’t get the chance to on the street. I got to work with a group of university students who taught me to be bold in my faith and to step out in sharing the gospel. I got to meet with new ministries for AIM and hear their heart behind what they want to do for the kingdom. I got to see God work in Ethiopia and the great part is that He isn’t finished yet!

Month Four: Philippines
This month I was taught hope from the people of Tacloban.
I was taught love from 16 street kids in CDO.
I learned childlike joy from a 5 year old girl as she spun in the middle of the square laughing.
Christmas looked a lot different, but it was one that I will remember for years to come.

Month Five: Malaysia
This month was one of the hardest on the race, missing home and the comforts of my life and friends.
This month I learned that it is okay to not be okay. No matter what I am dealing with I can find rest in my Father. I don’t have everything in my life figured out but that is the beauty of it, I trust in a God who does. I learned to rest in the joy that Christ has for me!

Month Six.five: Vietnam
This month we have been doing UH in the city and it has blown me away how God can work and make himself known!
I am still learning, I still mess up, there are still things that I need to work on and grow in.

But that is the beauty of it all.
God isn’t finished yet!

Here is what the next five months will look like if nothing else changes!

Month Seven: Cambodia
Month Eight: Thailand
Month Nine: Dominican Republic
Month Ten: Haiti
Month Eleven: Puerto Rico

Here is to stepping out in boldness in these last five months!

love,

Hanna
