I fell in love with South Africa and the people that we came into contact with while we were there. There are some wonderful things happening for the community of Port Elizabeth and the townships around the area.
Here are some that I had the pleasure of working with!
My team and I served with this ministry while we were in South Africa. It was started by Derrick and Diana of Jerusalem Ministries. Jerusalem ministries helps not only children in need, but mothers and men of the community as well.
This HDC is doing some wonderful things for the children of the township that they are next to. They take children from the worst of the worst situations in the townships and put them in their school. These children that come get a meal for breakfast, lunch and than another meal if they stay for aftercare. For a lot of these children those are the only meals that they will get. The staff at the HDC are such wonderful people with such a heart for God and their community. The school only runs to grade 3 so they are in need of a grade 4 teacher just with the amount of children that they do have in attendance. This organization is truly amazing, and are doing some pretty incredible things for their community. If you can check them out on either Facebook or on their webpage.

I had the pleasure of being apart of this church while we were staying in Port Elizabeth and… wow! The staff and the members are so on fire for Christ it is incredible and refreshing to see! They want so much more out of life and so much more of God in their lives.
We got to be apart of a lot with this church while we were there. We worked with their youth ministry, got to be apart of a cell group and met with some amazing women of the church for dinner.
We got to serve with some members of the church in a Matthew Lunch which was.. AMAZING. To see the Bible played out was incredible to watch. (Matthew 22)
I loved being apart of this wonderful church, God has some incredible plans for its members and I cannot wait to see that play out! The friendships and relationships that we built will last a lifetime. They really poured into us and made it a point to get to know my team and I.
Lighthouse family you will be truly missed, and I thank you for everything that you did for us!
