This is our backyard. It contains lots of wood. A big horsecart comes by and Papa gathers log after log. A large portion of his day is spent chopping wood. He constructed the bench you see above the day after we arrived. The fence, the outhouse, the kitchen, the doghouse- pretty much everything was made by Papa. He’s out there with his little saw at the wee hours of the morning, as well as in the hot sun during the afternoon. Yesterday was his birthday, and it wasn’t hard to figure out what to get him. We were blessed to receive a donation specifically for blessing Mama and Papa. After receiving his gift, Papa proceeded to motion to us that he would now be able to use it to help the other families in the village. Hope you enjoy the video. And I hope we can all be encouraged to continue to bless people we come in contact with. It can be the smallest thing. If you go get fast food today, pay for the car behind you. You’ll get a weird look from the cashier, but that’s okay. What would it look like to live in a world where we shared the goal of using our blessings to bless others without expecting anything in return? If that was the norm? Give it a try.
