It’s July 11th, which means I was born exactly 23 years ago. Even though I absolutely love birthdays, today my focus keeps leaning towards another exciting occasion. Our departure is one month from today. On August 11th, I’ll be flying out of New York to our first destination. It’s hard to believe it’s almost here. I’m currently working at a summer camp, and the end of each week brings me closer and closer to the realization that I’m actually about to do this. Here’s a quick update on support.
I’m currently lacking around 2,000 dollars to reach my financial goal. I used to think 2,000 dollars was such a large amount of money. After seeing countless acts of generosity and selfless giving, I know that there’s nothing to worry about. However, the money still has to come in. I’ve been blown away by the outpouring of love I’ve received. Last week (as well as the second week of camp), an offering was taken up at our Communion service. Two groups of 4th-6th graders donated roughly 1,000 dollars to aid this mission. I’ve been speechless. Camp Sumatanga has been such a blessing in my life, and it’s the same for countless others, both young and old. In order for camp to remain open, 300,000 dollars is needed before the end of August. The current amount received is 218,000. I can’t imagine my life without this place. And even though they have their own financial issues to worry about, they have wrapped their arms around me and greatly supported my journey through prayer, encouragement, and publicizing. If you feel led to give to Sumatanga, you can visit

I’ve been selling shirts to raise money, and one of them has already beaten me around the world. Below is supporter Ed Williams in Israel. Cool stuff!
I have two weeks remaining at camp, then two weeks to spend with friends and family. Once again, I can’t thank everyone enough. Until next time, peace.
