Hello guys!
I have been a bit under the weather for the past couple days so I am sorry I haven’t blogged…
I did have a chance to read an amazing book, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.
It focused on the tumultuous lives of two Afghan women and how their lives cross each other, this book really brought me back to a place of thanksgiving today despite how I felt.
God’s sovereign design for our life on this earth includes suffering.
The sovereignty of God is the only foundation for praise in he middle of pain
-His sovereignty assures us that God is in control.
-At every moment in our suffering, God is with us.
-At every moment in our suffering, God is for us.
-His sovereignty reminds us that Satan has been conquered.
-His sovereignty guarantees us that one day our suffering will conclude.
Ultimately, our pain on this earth can only be understood rightly from the sovereign perspective of heaven
***** I urge each of you to check out this
sermon series by Dr. David Platt. This series urges us to explore the Gospel and suffering in the book of
Job. Hardship is a given consequence of life in a fallen world.
Followers of Christ are not immune to struggles and pain; in fact,
following Christ means that trials are more likely to come. As a
result, the questions abound: Where is God when I suffer? When will my
suffering end? And ultimately, why am I suffering like this? In this
series, dive into these important and pertinent questions and discover
how the Gospel strengthens, sustains, comforts and emboldens us in the
midst of suffering.
