Dream come true.
Those are the three words that I am using to describe this month.
My team and I are here in Parramos, Guatemala, a hop, skip, and jump away from Antigua. This quaint little town comes fully equipped with volcanoes, vegetables galore, and the most precious, Mayan women.
What do I mean when I say dream come true, you ask?
If you had asked me a year ago what I wanted to do with the rest of my life my most likely answer would
have been to start a farm in a malnourished country and teach the community some tricks of the trade.
Well, here in this wonderland, also known as the organization Loving Arms, I am planting mushrooms,
tending to a couple greenhouses, building a foundation for a clinic, teaching women how to sew and
crochet, painting schools, and loving on children.

team walking the 1.5 miles or so to the
property, where we pour our strength
and sweat into the work laid out for us,
and then ends at 4:30 or so while we
walk back to our house of the month.
Speaking of our house for the month, PRAISE THE LORD JESUS for the house we are privileged to stay in.
I love tenting, but tenting in the mud during rainy season is not
my cup of tea, if you know what I mean.

Attached to our little house is a family who just moved in a couple
days before we got here. Due to the heavy rains, snakes and other
creatures infested their previous house, so much so that the mother
was afraid to sleep at night in order to protect her three preciousgirls.
Each night the two oldest girls come to our part of the house to
spend time with us and experience our North American-ness. The
other night their mother came for the first time to spend time with us
as well. It just so happened to by our
worship night here within our team and so we busted out the few Spanish worship songs we have. We then were able to pray over the mother, the girls, and their house.
It was such a powerful experience, especially when listening to the mother explain her recent struggles of protecting and supporting her girls on her own. I peeked over to the eldest girl who was lying in the bed and saw her tearing up, sharing in her mother’s agony.
I’ve heard before that while on the Race the days go by slowly but the months go by quickly and I now understand what they meant. I cannot believe that it is already half way through the second month, but then again it doesn’t seem like we have only been in Parramos for a little over a week.
I can see that God is doing so much in me, but I also know that there is so much left to be worked on and molded.
Also, I have officially reached my 3-month financial goal!! Only approximately $4,500 remaining to raise! Thank you to all those who are supporting me financially and prayerfully!
