I forgot I had started one last set of things I’ve learned on the Race. Some may be repeats, but here they are.
.Every country has Fanta, and not just orange or grape but some have their own flavor. My favorite was Fanta exotic in Albania.
.Asia has wifi on the buses
.Slow internet is worse than no internet
.No shame in eating a whole sleeve of Oreos in one sitting
.The lord provides. It may not always seem like He’s coming through for you, but trust me He is.
.Security in the China airport is extensive. They might take away your portable charger just because they want to.
.The grass isn’t greener in America.
.Hearing people speak English without an accent is weird.
.Hearing people speak only English is weird.
.You may get a parasite in Southeast Asia, but there’s a pill for that.
.People will honk their horns for any reason in Vietnam. Literally at anything.
.When you meet your teammate’s girlfriend for the first time and that’s what makes you cry.
.Take advantage of your adventure days. When will you ever be in these places again with the people you’re with?
.Your longest travel day might be the one going home. Your last flight might be delayed because a soda can got sucked into the engine and all you want to do is cry. It’s worth it though because your flight attendant is also a comedian.
.People care about you, even if they aren’t always good at showing it. You have more people in your corner than you think you do.
.Your big in Asia, even if you’re small you’re still big. Don’t get offended when they tell you that to your face.
17. Learn to love people who are hard to love or who may not show love to you the way you want.
.We all have something to give to someone else. Something to bring to the table.
.If you let the lies into your head and don’t speak out the truth, they have power over you and ain’t nobody got time for that.
.You might break out in tears thinking about all the things you’ve done this year and the people who have walked alongside you through it all. That’s ok, nobody has all their stuff together anyway.
“I may not have all my ducks in a row, but at least their in the same pond”
.You are more loved, appreciated and noticed by the people around you than you think.
.You may travel the world serving the Lord, but you will fail over and over again. Just because you’re being obedient in one area doesn’t mean you’re being obedient in other areas.
.When you get home, you’ll think a lot about the places you went and what they meant to you and you’ll want to go back.
.Even if you feel inadequate to do something, try. Try and fail again and again because eventually you will get it.
.I may have said this already, but have fun. Life is too short to not have fun.
