Here are 25 more things I’ve learned on the race, some are a little more funny but all are something I won’t forget.

26. You can fit more bodies in a car (or train) thank you think, there’s always room for one more
27. Buy a hand fan (or befriend someone who has one) to cool yourself off on said train
28. You may find Kraft Mac n Cheese, ranch, Frank’s red hot and Dr. Pepper at a super market, but I cannot find hot Cheetos anywhere
29. People will remember your name after meeting you one time, you get better at remembering theirs… Eventually
30. People want something to remember you by, a bracelet or letter, and they’ll give you one return
31. Good-byes actually never get easier
32. Anytime we find an American restaurant, we most likely eat there
33. Following Jesus is not on your (my) terms
34. There’s a difference between existing and living
35. Choose joy, choose love, choose each other
36. Notes of encouragement go a long way, never underestimate the power of your words
37. You will miss things like chickfila and chipotle, but you can find KFC, Pizza Hut, Dunkin doughnuts, 7-11, Buffalo Wild Wings and papa johns in the most unlikely places
38. Cheese is fairly expensive most places
39. You don’t have to chase after your calling, your calling will find you
40. American dollars are so boring looking compared to other countries currencies
41. Don’t jump to conclusions or assume things, you don’t always see the whole picture. There’s 2 sides to EVERY story
42. Saying “no” to something good, so you can say “yes” to something better is hard in the moment, but totally worth it
43. Tattoos are super cheap over seas. We joke that you aren’tracer until you’ve gotten a tattoo or something pierced. I pierced 5 of my squad mates noses.
44. Sometimes team changes are hard, but they aren’t always that bad. It’s all about perspective and choosing to opt in (refer to 35)
45. I’ve learned more about world history on the race than I did in school
46. God is who He says He is, and He’ll do the things He promised He will do
47. People change at different rates, we’ve been put into a pressure cooker of change whereas people at home may not have experienced change at the same rate. Having grace for people not being on the same playing field. That’s ok..
48. Feedback – Jesus did it, we should too
49. Take it to The Lord. If you feel like someone brought something to you and you don’t agree with it, take it to The Lord and He will show you what to do with it
50. Have fun! Get your work done, but don’t forget to have fun. Laugh a lot together.
