Tragic THANKFULNESS

Although this season has been a season of tragedy, heartaches, and hardships- GOD HAS REMAINED FAITHFUL, and from every storm He brings a rainbow.

Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus' birthday and what He did for us by coming, dying, and being beaten to literal death so that we can have eternal life. It's also a time to spend with family, friends, and a season of giving.

This Christmas is the first Christmas in 23 years that I haven't been with any of my family for the holidays. Although it's not been easy God has tremendously blessed me far beyond anything I deserve. As I spend this Christmas away from my family I have come to the realization of how blessed I am to have my family members even though we are miles apart. There are so many hurting without their parents, grandparents, and precious babies that have been taken home to be with Jesus.

Amongst all the tragedy and painful things going on I find myself sitting here knowing that everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for it all. When things go wrong or get chaotic we begin to question why things are going the way they are or why we are having to experience the pain of whatever we may be going through. We may not "deserve" what has come our way but there is a plan and there is a purpose for it all.

Jesus didn't deserve being beaten until literal death but He took every hit, spit in the face, people mocking him, thorns in his brow, slash and rip in his skin, nails in his hands and feet, and a sword in His side so that we can have eternal life and be saved from our sin.

So when things are put into perspective, maybe we don't deserve something we are going through BUT maybe we are going through it because its going to be used as part of our testimony to bring someone else to the truth and foot of the cross.

Many situations in life I have questioned, wondered why, cried about, hurt over, but it all has reason and again there is purpose. God has turned many of my messes into a message.

So through these things of life we call tragedies may just be blessings in disguise. Things that we at first count as tragedy may soon be turned into things we are thankful for.

Today I sit here with having lost many people and things in life and experiencing a lot of trials. The things I once counted tragedy I now count as things I'm thankful for. Every storm is followed by a rainbow and every hardship has a purpose.

Thankful today that Jesus endured such a tragic situation so that you and I can have eternal life! THANKFUL!!!!
