As I sit here in my mission house, I'm taken back at how I've been here not even a week and the Lord has used me in so many ways already. We took 2 planes and 1 bus to get to our ministry site on Tuesday July 9th, we arrived at 5am. We were definitely all really tired as we picked rooms for the month and got settled in. We had about 8 hours of sleep before we had to go to the church for orientation and safety rules. We were fed so much for dinner that night, it was crazy!
This week our squad has been split up into different teams doing a bunch of different things. The first day of ministry I was involved in picking weeds and going to 2 houses and just hearing their stories. (I wasn't too fond of actually picking weeds only because I didn't like doing it in the states so why would I do it here.) As I was picking weeds the Lord spoke to me, "obey me in the small things and I will bless you in the big things." I worked in the children's ministry on Saturday and was fed samalas (cabbage rolls) for dinner by our host home. On Sunday my team and I sang songs and me and my teammate shared parts of our testimonies. As I got up there I knew exactly what the Lord wanted me to say, but in my head it was all jumbled. I just asked the Lord to give me the words to say and He definitely did.
This past Monday was our day off. I decided to go with 24 other people to the ruins of Dracula's castle. 1500 stairs later I made it to the top, every step up I was praying for strength because I wanted to turn around so many times, but knew I needed to accomplish the task in front of me. These past couple of days in Romania have been both hard and easy, but so worth every minute. I thank you for reading. I also thank you for praying for my team and I. I also want to thank you for generously donating. I'm 50% funded and couldn't do any of this without your financial support. Please be praying, some of my squad mates have been getting sick, I just started getting sick last night. Also, please pray that everything I do and my team does is glorifying God!
Oh, I forgot to mention, our squad not going to Ukraine next, our route changed…we're headed to Moldova instead!
